Each item is encrypted and stored in the app’s private storage. Other apps and your gallery can’t see it.
Never uploaded
Vault items are not sent to our servers, not included in your Google Drive backup and not part of Android cloud backup.
You decide about the original
After hiding, you choose whether to remove the original from your gallery or Contacts, or keep it.
Unhide at any time
Put items back in your gallery or address book whenever you want.
Only your PIN opens it
We can’t reset a forgotten PIN. If you forget it, or uninstall the app or clear its data, hidden items can’t be recovered.
Google Drive
How Clearo uses Google Drive
Linking Google Drive is entirely up to you, and it powers just one feature: saving and restoring your contacts backup. Clearo asks Google for one scope only:

- Clearo can open only the backup files it created. Everything else in your Drive stays invisible to the app — it can’t read, list or change it.
- Backups live in your personal Google Drive. No copy ever reaches our servers and we can’t see what’s inside.
- Unlink Drive whenever you like from the Contacts Backup screen, or remove Clearo’s access on your Google Account permissions page.
- Your Google data is never used for ads, never sold and never handed to anyone else.

Clearo asks at the moment a feature needs something, and tells you why before the system prompt appears.

- Show the events stored on your phone and delete the ones you select.

- Find repeated or incomplete contacts, merge them, build your backup, and hide or unhide contacts in Vault.
- Notifications
- Tell you when a scan, a cleanup or a backup is done.
- Internet
- Send and fetch your contacts backup, and load ads.
